This Ofqual regulated qualification has been specifically designed to provide Learners with the knowledge and skills needed to administer initial emergency care at life-threatening incidents.

Designed originally for Community First Responders, this 2 day course covers the necessary skills to assess, treat and stabilise a casualty prior to the arrival of further medical assistance.

What does this course cover?

  • ● Roles and responsibilities of the community first responder
    Assessing a scene at an emergency incident
    Airway management
    Managing an unresponsive casualty - including CPR and the use of defibrillators (AEDs)
    Administering emergency oxygen
    Managing a patient with breathing difficulties - including asthma, hypoventilation, hypoxia and COPD
    Patient assessment and baseline observations
    Shock and circulation
    Major illness - including heart attack, angina, stroke, diabetes, seizures and faints
