Following a national review, the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid & the Level 2 Award in Paediatric Emergency First Aid have now been replaced with Level 3 qualifications. This change has been made to reflect the complexity of the skills learned and the high level of responsibility required for the paediatric first aider role.
For those who have previously undertaken the Level 2 qualifications, there’s no need to worry as any current ‘in date’ certificates are still acceptable to Ofsted. As there have only been minimal changes to the content of the courses, the main thing to be aware of is that successful delegates will now receive a Level 3 qualification, rather than a Level 2 qualification!
