Manual Handling

Poor manual handling is the cause of more than a third of all reported injuries that result in employees being off work for more than three days.

Manual handling covers a wide variety of tasks including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling and carrying and when any of these tasks are carried out incorrectly there is a risk of injury.

Employers have both a legal and moral obligation to ensure that employees are protected as they move objects or people whilst in the workplace. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002) require employers to conduct risk assessments of manual handling activities that their employees undertake and provide the appropriate training.

First on Scene is one of the UK’s leading training providers offering a full range of manual handling training courses. Our specialist trainers have a wealth of knowledge and all of our courses are adapted to your specific work environment, making our training relevant and memorable.

We also offer bespoke and regulated manual handling courses which can be specially tailored to your exact needs within the workplace. To discuss your requirements today, please call our team on 03303 11 21 99.
