HSE Annual First Aid Refresher
Training Course
The HSE now recommend that all first aider’s should receive annual refresher training.
This 3 hour course is delivered to the HSE’s syllabus, which provides your first aider’s with the opportunity to practice and update their practical skills, refresh theoretical knowledge and ensures that they are kept up to date with the latest first aid guidelines.
Our expert trainers can draw upon unrivalled knowledge to pass on their life saving skills, making the course more relevant and interesting for the students.
Assessment and Certification
Students are continuously assessed throughout the course.
Certificates are issued/updated to include the refresher course date. First on Scene Training will send an automatic reminder to both the customer and the First Aider when they are required to attend a further 3 hour First Aid refresher training course.

Topics covered
The topics covered on the Annual First Aid Refresher training course are dictated by the HSE and First Aiders will practice and update their skills in the following areas:
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock
