From 1st October 2009 there will be two levels of first aider recognised by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), these are First Aider At Work and Emergency First Aider At Work.
If you have more than one employee working at a location, the HSE requires you to undertake a first aid risk assessment to determine the number and type of first aiders that are required to provide adequate first aid cover.
This is the HSE approved course for people who are required to act as an Emergency First Aider at Work. The course has been designed to equip the Emergency First Aider with the skills necessary to take charge and deal with an emergency effectively. The emphasis is placed on preventing situations from becoming worse and maintaining life until help arrives.
Many private individuals also book on to this course as it is an excellent basic first aid course for the general public.
This course is available as an 'On Site' course or Scheduled 'Open' Course throughout the UK.
